Hey guys, so to start us off on this discussion, I'll introduce some coping methods I've learned that help keep me grounded when I'm struggling with my mental health. Some of my favourites include distraction-based techniques, like making a grocery list in your head or finding something around you for each color of the rainbow. These help me detach from my intrusive thoughts and help me put things into perspective. Another one I like is a food-based method, where you choose a small food like an M&M or blueberry and take note of all of its characteristics, and then when you eat it, you consider all of the flavors and textures it has. This allows you to focus your mind on something other than your thoughts and worries and focus on the present. What are some of your favorite coping methods?

These are amazing! Personally, I like to use distract myself by reading a book or writing to help my negative thoughts float away.
